I took the same concept you did but one step farther. I made a program that automatically eliminates the repeat numbers up and down the columns, side to side the rows, and even the box it exits.
if you’re THAT desperate to find a puzzel’s solution, you’d better look at the end of the book and check the answer…
You can use spell check by computer also. Try puzzle. It,s not spelled puzzel. The fun of Sudoku is to THINK.for yourself.

i play it on my blackberry everyday and believe my it makes u think.
doing this by hand or on computer is completeley useless and doesnt even require thinking..
It would be far faster to just do it using logic than go through all that, sudoku is a game of thinking..
I tried this trick, it doesn’t always work. If you have a hard puzzle, sometimes you won’t have cells with only one possible number, instead you’ll need to do some thinking.
This seems like what you do anyway… only on a computer… which (to me) would just make it more time consuming anyway.

To actualy wright out all of the numbers and then erase them would take to long. only do that later on when you cant find anything easaly.

You may think it is funny, but it raises an interesting point, Sudoku is essentially a 9 by 9 einstein puzzle, imagine 1is a person like John, 2, mable, 3, stephen
and in the columm, imagine
Row 1 is type of food, hamburgers=1, Fish = 2
Row 2 is type of transport, car=1, bicycle =2 etc.
This is actually the correct and universal, although long winded way of doing it

whoa really? that’s some bs shit…why the fuck would a math teacher use puzzles for hw…that’s just lame. Unless the teacher taught you how…and is part of the curriculum, you should do it. Otherwise, you shouldn’t….noob teacher can’t think up better things for hw.
