Sudoku Worldwide Trend
Have you ever heard of Sudoku? Its a new Japanese puzzle game that is taking the entire world by storm. It started as an unknown game but it has already conquered Japan in the 1980s. Today, there are over a million players who play it every month on the internet.
For those people who do not know Sudoku, it is basically a puzzle of numbers from 1 to 9. You start with a 9 x 9 grid which is divided into 9, 3 x 3 subgrids.
The first grid should have a series of numbers which is scattered in each row and column in random order. There is a technique behind this puzzle. First, you have to make sure that you have all the numbers from 1 to 9 in every row and/or column. And second, you should not have two numbers the same in each 3 x 3 subgrid.
This may be a bit confusing at first (as it is a puzzle), but when you start to solve a Sudoku, it will gradually start to make sense.
Once you begin a Sudoku puzzle, you may find it very difficult to stop. Most players were not at first a great fan of puzzles and crosswords but, once they started a Sudoku, they were hooked. What makes it very addicting is the continuous challenge it give to the players. Plus, compared to crossword puzzles, a Sudoku does not require you to know every word found in the dictionary.
A single Sudoku puzzle can be completed in up to a couple of hours. Actually, it all depends on the level which you have chosen to play. If you chose the difficult level then, probably it will take you hours to solve it. However, the easier level can be completed within 5 minutes to an hour. This means that there is a game for all types of Sudoku game players.
The growth of this worldwide trend is fuelled by its big prizes and rewards that are beginning to rise in the Sudoku events and tournaments. The prizes normally range from a few hundred U.S dollars up to several thousand dollars.
Luckily, since Sudoku can be very difficult, there is software available to help you with your solution if you get stuck during the course of the game. You should enter your solution in the software, to find out whether it is correct or wrong. This is the best, most accurate way to know if you have the correct result or not.
On the other hand, if you are doing Sudoku offline (newspaper, magazine or books) you’ll need to get your pen and paper then solve it in the traditional way.
The best thing about Sudoku is that it gives a fair playing ground for everybody. A five year-old kid, a 65 year-old elder, a Math major professor and a person who do not know how to speak English can play it and win at the end.
It seems that the craze for Sudoku will stay forever. This is not just a simple trend that will vanish after three to six months. Many people have learned to love Sudoku and for sure they want to keep playing for it for the rest of their life.
